Metal sculptor James Eric Browne creates one of a kind nature inspired works of art from scrap metal. He began his work as an artist in 2005, when he started to use his welding skills to create abstract sculptures. Since then his work has evolved into a figurative art style that transforms his ideas into steel nature snapshots.
James sees each piece as a puzzle. He takes scrap metal found in and around his Ingleside, Illinois shop and cuts, hammers and bends them into shape—one at a time. Then welds and grinds them into form, some pieces are textured with intricately welded patterns. Sculptures are finished off with patinas, bluing, or paint and a clear coat. All pieces are created to withstand outdoor display.
